What is the Difference Between a Trestle Table and a Rustic Trestle Table?
Choosing the right tables for your event can significantly impact the overall look and feel of your marquee. We offer two main types of long tables – standard trestle tables and rustic trestle tables – each with their own distinct characteristics and styling requirements.
Standard Trestle Tables
- Size: 6' x 3' (seats 6 guests – 3 each side)
- Material: Standard folding trestle construction
- Linen required: Yes – these tables need to be covered with tablecloths
- Best for: Formal events where you want a polished, dressed look
- Note: We don't provide linen – this is something you would need to source yourself or through your caterer
Rustic Trestle Tables
- Size: 6' x 3' (seats 6 guests – 3 each side)
- Material: Beautiful solid wood construction
- Linen required: No – designed to be displayed uncovered
- Best for: Relaxed, rustic, or country-style events
- Styling: Perfect with simple table runners, greenery, or left bare to showcase the natural wood
Which Should You Choose?
- Choose standard trestles if: You want a formal look, plan to use tablecloths, or have a specific colour scheme for your linens
- Choose rustic trestles if: You prefer a natural, relaxed aesthetic, want to save on linen hire, or love the look of exposed wood
- Both options work beautifully with our crossback chairs or Chivari chairs
