Mr & Mrs Stevenson’s Outdoor Wedding

Mr and Mrs Stevenson’s outdoor wedding was one of our favourite events from the summer of 2019. Sophie & Pickle’s wedding was dreamy outdoor marquee celebration which pulled together a wide range of people that we had great fun working alongside.
Sophie had big plans for this special day and the process began back in May 2018! A prompt site visit kicked things off and the planning process came into full swing. Sophie had a great list of ideas for the wedding and from there we were able to help piece together this beautiful outside celebration.
Plans for a wedding always evolve over time. Sophie pitched her ideas to us and after talks about anticipated guest numbers, styles of furniture & decoration and how she planned to use the space during the day, we created a basic plan together.
Sophie wanted to create a smart but rustic feel for her reception with guests seated on round tables and weathered natural oak cross back chairs. The marquee also needed to include a round bar, dance floor and stage.
She also wanted to have some informal seating areas both inside and outside the main marquee for her guests to relax. We introduced some chesterfield sofas with a coffee table at one end of the tent and outdoor seating in the form of wooden patio tables & chairs with parasols and a rattan sofa set, along with two fire bowls.

We use specialist furniture suppliers to furnish our marquees, so we’re able to offer a wide range of styles and choices for a traditional, informal, vintage or rustic feel. 6ft round tables, wooden cross back chairs, sofas and patio sets were supplied by our friends at Furniture 4 Events.

The venue was a field owned by a family friend just outside Kings Sutton in the Oxfordshire countryside.  Sophie and Pickle had invited 198 guests to share their special day.  Given their guest numbers and the spaces they envisaged for the inside of the marquee, they used one of our stunning 12x42m british sailcloth marquees.  They added entrance walkways with festoon lighting, a catering tent and luxury loos.

A few personal touches, like the brilliant mirror table plan and some neon lighting added to the individual feel of the occasion.

As the day approached, a heat wave arrived – a dream for an outside wedding but requiring some last minute changes of plan.  A 9m round tent was added to provide some welcome shelter for the band to perform in and the team were able to put up both tents on the same day.

This open air feel to the wedding created a relaxed and super fun feel for the day.  Inside Green and Gorgeous Flowers had provided elegant flower arrangements and dressed our large flower rings beautifully. The stunning tableware adding the perfect final touch.

Food and drink for the day was provided by The Little Pickle and helped make this fabulous wedding a huge success.

As day turned to night, festoons inside the marquee provided the lighting with additional coloured spotlights and a large disco ball.  Outside, the flying festoons across the top of the marquee and lit walkways came in to their own.

With Rick Astley providing the music, a magic first dance began a night of partying and celebration.
