At the end of 2017, discussions started to circulate of a trip to provide on of our Sailcloth Marquees for Private party in Italy. It didn’t take long for us to be 110% committed to making these discussions formal, and to start planning our trip!
We were contacted by an agency in Milan – MEC67, a great team of creatives with no boundaries, everything planned to perfection and a pleasure to work with.
In the spring Alex flew over for the site visit, which concreted the determination to make sure we were involved in the event. Set North of Milan, in amongst the beautiful Italian lakes the site was at a private house, below a small picturesque Italian market town. The party was to be for 500 guests, spread over two marquees for the evening.
On arrival, guests were greeted for a poolside drinks party, with a renowned DJ, amazing lights and selection casual seating. The next stage of the evening took guests along a custom built, 300m wooden walkway down to the marquees, which, until this point had been out of site and were a complete surprise to the guests.
The entrance took guests into our 12x42m marquee, which was arranged with a mix of eclectic furniture, buffet stations and banqueting tables. The marquees were built on a deck which spanned almost 1,000 square metres. Something we wish we could guarantee in the UK – but we don’t often get 28*c at 10pm at night!
Our 9x30m marquee was the ‘dance tent’. A massive mirror dance floor, with truss set up between the two middle poles for the lighting, an elevated booth for the DJ’s and two bars.
