Capheaton is a small rural community in the heart of Northumberland. At its core is Capheaton Hall, the seat of the Swinburne family since 1260 and still our home today. Cleverly, we have survived being on the wrong side of most conflicts since then, including the Wars of the Roses, the Civil War, the 1715 Jacobite Rebellion and the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion.
Capheaton is a place for people to come and enjoy the very best of Northumberland. It is unbelievably tranquil, old-fashioned and relaxed. Staying here is a chance to make this wonderful place yours and indulge in gentleness, serenity and relaxation. At Capheaton, you are not just visiting a lovely old Estate, you are becoming part of a small but rich and vibrant rural community and we do hope you love it as much as we do.
